Nottingham @ JT Soar 12/06/17 #poetry

The hills roll on like an infinite mind
Colorless wind and paint balled sheep
Massage and manage native grasses
We love these places
We lose ourselves here

Just in time manufacturing
Just in time lives
Men are parking their campers
Woman are planting trumpets in the snow
Children are mining the past for the future

A beautiful day in the car
Working our stomach muscles
Ants on the motorway
Names for storms
Comfort our demise
Hurricane Sheldon
Typhoon Mildred
Heatwave Dennis
Death by friendship

Living every second
On and off screen
Gingerly scraping the sonic shit
From our shoes

We all go down together
We all go down alone
Whatever stirs the punch bowl
Let’s meet after the show

Glasgow @ Hug and Pint 12/05/17 #poetry

I could stare into your eyes
Forever without blinking
A symphony of snores
Would never pull my focus
An army of jelly babies
Fortified with pork pie cannons
Expelling copious amounts
Of the most perfectly cooked chips
All fail to distract me from your eyes

The students live in castles
The locals dance to Indie rock
All are in search of the perfect gravy
It’s a Greggs’ world and we just live in it

The stones we walk are cold and wet
We could not imagine, in a lifetime,
All the feet that have traveled
These same steps

Instant coffee Travelodgue humming.
A big part of life is waiting
We can learn things while we wait
Learn to be stronger, to appreciate more
To let the pain happen.

But you are a cure for pain.
You are holiday architecture
You are the sheep that dot the horizon
Unquestionable wonder
Soup and bread for the eyes
You give me so much joy
I could look at you forever
Blurry eyes
Without blinking

Durham @ Empty Shop HQ 12/04/17 #poetry

As we gather around the table
As we break the bread
As we pour the wine
As we pass the fire
As we sort the piles
As we spin the yarn

We hold hands that are next to us
Each meal is more important
Each one closer to the last
A slight adjustment to the leg
Unlocks the gate to heaven

Some things never leave you
Like a tattoo or hot brand on a steers neck
A thoughtless comment
A flip of the zipper
Can poison the well forever

Fast moving sky
Slow moving fish and chips
Don’t covet stuff
Never regret the experiences
We are all pink inside
We all need a little time
To identify the thickness
Of the the layers
We need time outside the water
to
Feel the fish’s skin
