Once my prison
Now my sweet resting place

I wanna drop a love bomb
On the entire world
Read the book of faces
Face to face
Roll over and wake you
With a spoon and a kiss

No obsessions
A fan spinning in the wind
Recycling the spirits
Smoothing the skins
We are soft smooth snakes
Smiling and hissing
On warm dry stones

The pigment is something
It’s not everything

In  my parent tense
There is a new way of looking at things

I am listening to your zebra heart
It beats within a lion chest

I listen to my own Voice
It tells me to stop talking
And stop listening
To let go of the flippers
Watch the ball roll

Everyone here is talking
To someone else with their eyes

And the next thing happens

The past falls through
Our skeletal fingers

The bones are now
The bones keep us safe
The bones keep us alive

There’s something going on
Inspired by deception

The self importance
Rings throughout the coffee shop
Like a lonely poet with a notebook

We’ve come so far

The pride of the VIP
Hawaiian shirts
Blind beagles
Iced lattes
Muffin with a fork

No living thing is a sticky bun

A punching bag is not a release
It’s a thick leather bag
Full of sand
That people punch

Until women and men cease to exist
The plastic in the ocean will continue

Until we each find our own name
And learn to masturbate to cartoons

Cuddle pups are not trucks
Stuffed kittens and monkey paws

All is made beautiful in your face
Like Rock and roll
I stop questioning
I step back
I notice a whole world
For me to listen to
And come alive

Everywhere
The locust song
A larger Jeff Tweedy

Pausing for our jockeys
To brush our manes

Opening our eye slits

By the hearth we wait
For our urges to instruct
The next move

Quick trip is laughing at us
Pink drink expands
The rear view mirror

Rain drops turn to rasins

Diamonds are jokes
Falling from a truck
We dust them off
And put them in our pockets

There are many kids
In the sour patch
Looking for good homes

We pay extra for the head

No fighting in the car
No sex in the champagne room

Too much chicken
For one day

No dancing in the car
No money for nothing

I expected less

Or nothing less expected
Surprised
