Show Poem: YouTube is mad at Facebook… July 09/ Pittsburgh, PA / Gooski’s #SchwervonPoetry

She was the kind of girl
That seemed off balance
Without a beer in her hand
One arm slightly longer
Than the other
Head permanately tilted
To the right

The Car rings like an old telephone
The heavy air almost deafening

YouTube is mad at Facebook

I slept at the old Smucker
Farm last night
My pillow was full of jelly

I dreamed all
The lost phone chargers
The clean canteens
And fancy face soaps
were back with me

I swear I felt that bird
In my hair
Came swooping down
And nearly missed the car

Sad people who don’t
Know how to eat
Like every meal requires bread

Trying to soften the blows
Of the many Passing days

Hot sauce nightmares
Tickling the squares

Everyone has a shady side
Blowing smoke up
Our own asses
Romanticly using the past
Dissecting our
Cancerous butt lungs

We cough up the fantasies
All over our children’s children

Show Poem: Like painting hands Squeezing our own tails… July 08/ Harrisonburg, VA / Golden Pony #SchwervonPoetry

Like an exploding sperm whale carcus
I salute the day with
Music and dance

Constant reinvention
Is how we stay happy

Tree covered mountains
Cloud filled skys
Black bird
With no feathers around the neck
Two for one Gatorade

I have no good reason
To be steaming mad at dirt

Let’s play the game of Proud America
Where the consultation prize is freedom

Like painting hands
Squeezing our own tails

Brick walls that sing us awake
A moment to consider

Yes there is more here
Than there appears to be
At first glance

Yes I am attempting to
speak to you between the lines

Yes I am trying to reveal more
Than what we allow
Typically allow ourselves

Is it too much?

I have an endless Hungar

Ever since that
Basement party in the
7th grade
I learned some things
Middle toes and groups dynamics

I learned about the art of the gather
And the moment

But the best thing I learned
Was the dance
At least to try

The lock around my heart
Was lifted
I was free like a copper kettle
Like ancient morning
Sky on camera
Digitized
On the web

Show Poem: A family can form in a split second… July 07/ Richmond, VA / Gallery Five #SchwervonPoetry

image
Dentists on trampo
Deadline headline
Speed humping it
To the next venue

Hawk wind soaring
High above our never ending
Hot plate of twisted
Black tar veins
And cracked asphalt
Waiting for the next
Splatter day

King’s dominium
Chicken nuggets spilling
Out of every billboard

Eternal morning
Breakfast served all day, every day

Whay do you do this? she said
Because it quiets my mind, he said

Megaton megadoners
Brushing the stuff
off my tongue each morning
Keys, glasses, billfold, phone

Looking back for more
Than I had the first time
It’s always worth remembering
Always worth sticking around

Seeing you walk through that door
Has made all the difference

It’s a beauty like how we speak
To our mothers through the years

A demon will kiss you
And just stare
Like an animal in a cage
But you go right through

A family can form in a split second
That’s all it takes or it could
Take millions of years
It could be the same.
