Stop trying to put a hat on it… Sun. Mar. 22 / Soundpony, Tulsa, OK #Schwervonpoetry

Tell a story on your walls
Swing your weight around the balls

Beat your drum proudly
Your true loves will always dance
The advice of grilled cheese
Black swans and tired parrots

David Bowie is a cat I met in Fayetteville
And endless balls of yarn
Dangle from the clouds for him

Stop trying to put a hat on it
Googly eyes bullshit
Get sick of being cool
Stop trying to wrap a scarf
Around this town

Stop settling for room temperature
Heat things up
Beat your chest
With broccoli branches
Swiss chard

Love can bring things to a boil
Maybe you don’t deserve desert

But if there is one thing
On this brown planet
That no one can deny you of
It’s the warmth of love

No deeper shade of red
No paler shape of night
No paternal memory
No surreal exploding T-shirt
Black boot or
Re-verb drenched guitar
Love people

You all deserve it
Every little nasty bit
Get used to it
Get loose to it
Spread it around
Take a bight

The love matters.  Keep it going… Thursday / November 13, 2014 #SchwervonPoetry

Last night I dreamed
I crashed a car into a house
All of my friends were
Totally un sympathetic

There she goes again
Like a bird she will fly

How do we live like this
We live every day with
With love

My life is starting over again
Again, and then again

You read the paper upside down
And then you say it deceives you

Churches should be built
Over the course of all time
And never finished

My right hand will never touch
My right elbow

I will never take a picture
Of My camera

My hands are the roots
My legs are the branches
A birds nest in my ass
A mouth full of dirt

I’m not dancing to be clever
I’m not singing to numb the feeling

We are on a grand voyage.
We are on a quest for good cheese
We are looking for the toilet

Six one half dozen the other
Gehubbt wie gedubbt

We are all in this together
It’s love
It’s terrible
Let’s celebrate
The years don’t matter.
The love matters.
Keep it going.

Leave a rainbow in the bog… Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 / Sheffield, UK #SchwervonPoetry

We make a break for it
Say our goodbyes quickly
And then it’s off
into the mustard sky night

I am a chicken head
waiting to separate from it’s body
So much less to worry about
All the wasted hours
Walking from place to place
The sore muscles
The stretching

Our heroes for the night
are a pack of boy musicians
They save us from the war
Of office politics
And High Blood Pressure

I am a building ledge talker downer
I Basque in  the simplicity
Things always go one of two ways
I spend my nights flip flopping
On the purpose of my existence

I am a luxury
I am a necessity
I give purpose
I have purpose

I am marsh land
Flooded with things
Slipping into the cold dark mud
An ageless place for
Things without eyes
To be
Or not to be
No questions asked

Just leave notch on the bedpost
And Before you go
leave a rainbow in the bog
For the next sad shitter
